The premise

Trauma is not only psychological

It affects the brain, nervous system, body, emotions, relationships, and daily functioning. Insight alone can stall because unresolved trauma is also stored in the nervous system. This practice treats both at once.

Body

Somatic work

Breathwork, grounding, body awareness, and intentional movement that integrate healing into the nervous system itself.

Skills

DBT

Stabilization and behavioral change — mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Self

IFS

Internal healing and Self-leadership — transforming the protective survival patterns that trauma created.

Who you'll work with

Bridging body and mind

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Melissa offers a trauma-informed, holistic approach that integrates Somatic Healing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Internal Family Systems through the Four Pillars Trauma Recovery Framework™, her original trademarked clinical model — available by telehealth and in person.

Lasting healing begins by reconnecting mind, body, and spirit. Her somatic work helps clients tune into the body's natural intelligence; DBT supplies the regulation skills; IFS opens compassionate access to the parts that have been carrying the weight.

Through this model, clients learn to

  • Regulate emotions and calm the nervous system
  • Release tension and trauma stored in the body
  • Heal internal conflicts and reconnect with the authentic self
  • Build lasting self-awareness, self-compassion, and resilience

Transform your life through mind–body awareness, evidence-based care, and compassionate support — from home, or through guided in-person healing as needed.

More about the practice

Integrated Somatic Release Therapy

For pain that hasn't responded to anything else

A collaborative program for chronic pain rooted in unresolved trauma — combining medical massage, somatic therapy, shockwave and cold laser treatment, physical therapy, and energy healing with clinical psychotherapy.

The premise

Trauma lives in the body, not only the story

Traditional psychotherapy often focuses on thoughts and memories. ISRT recognizes that unresolved trauma is also stored within the nervous system and the body.

Healing therefore requires both psychological treatment and physiological regulation — run together, not in sequence.

The outcome

Beyond symptom management

  • Restore regulation, resilience, and connection
  • Widen the window of tolerance
  • Discharge chronic patterns of tension
  • Regulate emotionally, physiologically, and behaviorally

Rather than simply reducing symptoms, ISRT restores regulation, resilience, connection, and wholeness.
